Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2, 2026. Please review the operational protocols and contractual parameters governing our structural masonry installations across Massachusetts.
1. Acceptance of Contractual Parameters
By accessing this website, requesting an on-site structural assessment, or signing a digital project estimate provided by Castone Masonry, you agree to comply with and be strictly bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern all field operations, engineering deployments, and masonry consulting services executed within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
2. Scope of Structural Masonry Operations
Our operations focus exclusively on custom architectural and structural masonry applications, including stone walls, patios, walkways, chimney restorations, stone veneer overlays, and general historical brickpointing.
Any field adjustment, depth change over the standard 48-inch regional frost line, or additional material allocation required by unforeseen soil variations will be handled strictly through formal, written change orders signed by both parties before subsequent construction phases proceed.
3. Geotechnical & Subsurface Conditions
New England subsoils feature dense glacial till, water-retaining clay pockets, and significant crystalline bedrock ledge outcrops. While our team performs systematic surface assessments before breaking ground, Castone Masonry is not financially liable for delays, equipment modifications, or additional aggregate backfilling costs triggered by striking unmapped subterranean obstructions, including:
- Massive buried glacial granite erratics and boulders beneath hardscape pathways.
- Solid granite bedrock ledge requiring industrial diamond core drilling or pneumatic line hammering.
- Unstable alluvial river-silt matrices near active waterways requiring advanced structural grid fabrics.
4. Municipal Regulations & Board Clearances
The property owner retains primary responsibility for confirming exact property lot lines, setback limits, and underground utility marking via Dig Safe systems.
Furthermore, if a project falls within a designated historic district or a 100-foot wetland resource boundary, the client must coordinate formal filing steps with the appropriate local municipal boards, such as the Concord Historical Commission or the Wayland Conservation Commission. Castone Masonry builds to comply strictly with state frameworks but is not responsible for delays stemming from municipal zoning freezes.
5. Payment Structuring & Financial Obligations
Because premium raw New England fieldstones, architectural paving bricks, and bulk crushed aggregates demand immediate up-front logistics, our contract fulfillment operates under a rigorous milestone framework:
- An initial mobilization deposit is required to lock deployment dates and authorize material hauling flatbeds.
- Intermediate progress payments are triggered upon completing specific structural phases, such as deep excavation clearing and sub-base packing.
- The final contract balance is due immediately upon structural handover and field site washing.
